Clinical information
|
Napsin is a pepsin-like aspartic proteinase in the A1 clan of the AA clade of proteinases. There are two closely related napsins: napsin A (NAPSA) and napsin B (NAPSB). Napsin A is involved in processing propeptide pulmonary surfactant protein B (proSP-B) in the lung. In normal tissue, Napsin A is expressed in type II pneumocytes of the lung and proximal tubules of the kidney.

- Specimen type: Well-fixed tissue in 10% neutral buffered formalin.
- Submit 2 unstained (3-4 µm thick) paraffin embedded tissue section mounted on a clean positively charged glass slide (sections to be cut within 6 weeks.) or formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue block.

- Slides or blocks are stored in cork box at room temperature away from sun light and any source of heat.
- Follow your local regulation shipping guidelines.
