2nd Pediatric Nursing Leadership Symposium: “Leadership Skills for Success!”
The event is still 3 months away; however, the planning is in full swing. The 1st Symposium focused on transformational leadership, the 2nd Symposium will focus on Leadership Skills for Success
What sets this year’s Symposium apart from the previous one is its focus on the practical aspect of leadership in pediatric nursing. The symposium will enable participants to reflect on their leadership strengths, provide them with opportunities to address and effectively meet current leadership challenges, and enable them to explore strategies to be an effective leader.
The symposium will involve Pediatric Head Nurses, Charge Nurses and Clinical Support Nurses in HMC, Sidra and UCQ. Some of the activities will be facilitated by Clinical Nurse Specialists, Subspecialty Nurses, Pediatric Case Managers, and Pediatric Nurse Leaders from UCQ, Sidra.
The 2nd Pediatric Nursing Leadership Symposium will be held on the 18th & 19th of June 2013. Official invites will be sent out by the Project Team soon after the details of the event have been finalized by the Planning Committee.
Child Health Research Workshop - Transportation
The Child Health Research Workshop on transportation will be hosted in October 2013. The objective of this workshop is to develop a strategy in three key areas which promote transportation health for children and youth, which are community design and active transportation, motor vehicle-related injuries and fatalities and environmental public health.
2nd Multidisciplinary Child Healthcare Professionals Education Forum
Our 2nd Multidisciplinary Child Healthcare Professionals Education Forum will be held in November 2013. The Forum aims to consolidate the theme of integration that was promoted at the 1st Forum and measure the progress achieved over the course of the year. The event, which is going to be co-hosted by Hamad Medical Corporation and Sidra Medical and Research Center, will bring together key representatives from the 8 Academic Health System initiative organizations.
Pain Awareness Week
Following the success of the first Pain Awareness Month to be held in Qatar back in November 2012, the Pain Taskforce are already planning for the next Pain Awareness campaign due to be held for one week in November 2013. This year’s event will continue to focus on raising awareness regarding Pediatric Pain Management here at Hamad Medical Corporation.
3rd Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Stakeholder
The 3rd Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Stakeholder event will take place in January 2014. All organisations that are involved in the management and treatment of children and young people with mental health issues in Qatar will attendance to celebrate the success of the 2013 Task Force programme and formulate a work plan for 2014.
4th Annual Child Health Research Day
Our 4th Annual Child Health Research Day will be held in February 2014, and will continue to highlight the work being delivered to further develop Child Health Research capacity in Qatar. It will further develop the collaboration, not only between HMC and SickKids, but also with other research entities in the country who are striving to improve Child Health Research.
