Driven by the momentum that we currently have amongst the nursing team, the Nursing Leadership and Practice Development Task Force aims to provide leadership, direction and support for evidence-based pediatric nursing. It also aspires to create a vision for pediatric nursing at HGH, and establish future priorities that will position pediatric nursing care as a model of excellence within Hamad Medical Corporation.
The task force is chaired by Ms. Ma. Lourdes Ezpeleta who is currently the Acting Director of Nursing in Pediatrics and PICU. The multi-disciplinary membership includes pediatric nurse leaders from different units and specialty areas, pediatric nurse educators, a consultant physician and an advanced clinical nurse specialist.
Some of the initiatives that the task force is looking at include education and clinical consolidation for pediatric nursing staff, review of guidelines and scope of service, and leadership development.
