Star of Excellence: Breast Surgery ImprovementsThis project was designed to improve services in alignment with the Qatar National Cancer Strategy and meet the recommendations launched by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser and Professor the Lord Darzi of Denham. A wide range of initiatives were undertaken with the effect of transforming breast surgery from a general service to a highly specialized and comprehensive service delivery unit.
Rising Star: Trauma and Surgery Quality and Patient Safety
The trauma surgery section of the Department of Surgery at Hamad General Hospital developed an innovative patient safety program with the focus of ensuring the safest and most effective care for patients and facilitating communication among surgical team members. This was achieve through the development of key performance indicators, safety measures, clinical pathways and training programs for clinical, medical and nursing staff.
