Prof. Philip Rouadi (Lebanon)

Dr. Philip W. Rouadi, Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Eye and Ear University Hospital in Beirut, Lebanon, and an Otorhinolaryngologist/ Allergist. He is the current President Pan Arab Society of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, a Board Member of the World Allergy Organization, Chair of the Rhinitis and Sinusitis Committee, WAO, and Director of Eye & Ear Univ. Hosp.- Lebanon. Additionally, he is ENT Residency Program, Allergy Laboratory, and Sleep Laboratory. 

Dr. Rouadi was born in Tripoli, Lebanon, in 1966. He is a medical doctor who graduated from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, in 1991. He completed his postgraduate studies at the American University of Beirut-Medical Center Beirut, where he graduated as an Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery specialist in 1996. 

He completed his Fellowship in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Allergy, and Rhinology (1996-1998) at the University Of Chicago Hospitals in Illinois-USA, where he also completed Clinical Training in Sleep-Related Disorders at the Department of Neurology and Neurophysiology. He also received advanced training in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery at the John Hopkins Medical Institution in Baltimore, Maryland-USA, and at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997. 

Dr. Rouadi is the director of the Allergy and Sleep Laboratories and Head of the ENT Residency Training Program at the same hospital. He is a very well-trained surgeon in Otolaryngology with extensive experience (more than 22 years) in medical and surgical treatments of patients with ear, nose, throat, and allergy problems. Also, he is currently Chair of the World Allergy Organization (WAO) Committee on “Upper Airways and Allergy,” where he was recently elected as a Member of the House of Directors of the same organization (WAO). 

He has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and medical textbooks in allergy and otolaryngology. He has co-chaired many national (Lebanese) and international congresses in pollution, allergy, and rhinology. He is an Ex-Com member and immediate past president of the Lebanese Society of Allergy and Immunology and a Member of the Lebanese Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. 

Dr. Rouadi is on the local and international Speaker’s Bureau for GSK, MSD, Astra Zeneca, Bayer, Takeda, Novartis, Meda, Pharmaline, and Algorithm pharmaceuticals. He is also on the Speaker’s bureau and Advisory Board Committee for Sanofi and Abbott Pharmaceuticals. His areas of interest are biologicals, pollution, immunotherapy, chronic rhinosinusitis, the pharmacodynamics of intranasal steroids, and chronic cough.
