Scope and Topics

We invite researchers, clinicians, educators, and trainees to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations at the Third Qatar Nephrology Conference.

Abstracts may address a broad range of topics in nephrology, including but not limited to:

  • Glomerular diseases
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Hemodialysis
  • Peritoneal dialysis
  • Kidney transplantation
  • Acute kidney injury
  • Interventional nephrology
  • Quality improvement, service development, and education in nephrology
  • Clinically relevant case reports

Submissions should reflect original work that is complete or will be completed by the time of the conference.

Submission Requirements

  • All abstracts must be submitted via email to QNC2026@gmail.com.
  • All abstracts must use the official abstract template​ and be written in clear, professional English suitable for scientific presentation.
  • Word limit: Maximum 300 words for the abstract text (excluding tables and figures).
  • Abstracts may include up to 2 tables or figures, cited in the abstract text.
  • Only abstracts submitted on the official template​ will be considered.
  • Each submitted abstract must be accompanied by a Conflict of Interest (COI) form completed and signed by the presenting author (Part A only).

  • Background and aims
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion

Case reports:

  • Background
  • Case presentation
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the data presented and for obtaining appropriate ethical or institutional approvals, where applicable. For case reports, patient consent must be secured in accordance with institutional requirements.

Presentation Format

  • Authors must indicate their preferred presentation format (oral or poster) at the time of submission.
  • The final decision regarding presentation format rests with the Scientific Committee.

Authorship and Presentation Rules

  • Each presenter may present a maximum of two abstracts during the conference.
  • If more than two abstracts are accepted, a co-author must be designated as the presenter.
  • At least one author per accepted abstract must register for the conference and be available to present.
  • If the designated presenting author is unable to present, another co-author may do so, provided the organizing committee is notified no later than 10April 2026 at QNC2026@gmail.com.
  • Failure to complete presenter registration by 10 April 2026 will result in removal of the abstract from the scientific program.

Review and Acceptance

All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Scientific Committee based on:

  • Scientific merit and originality
  • Relevance to nephrology research and clinical practice
  • Clarity and organization
  • Clinical or academic impact

Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified by 28 March 2026.

Publication and Awards

  • Accepted abstracts will be published on the conference website and, following the conference, as a supplement in the Qatar Medical Journal.
  • Authors who do not wish their abstracts to be published may opt out; such requests will be respected.
  • Outstanding oral and poster presentations may be recognized with awards during the conference.

Important Notes

  • Transport and accommodation expenses are the responsibility of the authors.
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to request minor revisions prior to final acceptance.​
