From Prediction to Prevention: Implementing Precision Lifestyle Medicine in Clinical Practice
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Differentiate precision lifestyle medicine from traditional preventive approaches.
- Interpret polygenic risk scores and integrate them with validated clinical risk tools (ASCVD, cancer risk calculators, metabolic risk scores).
- Apply layered risk stratification combining genetic, clinical, behavioral, and environmental data.
- Develop individualized, risk-tiered lifestyle prescriptions.
- Design a multidisciplinary precision prevention workflow model.
- Workshop Content Overview
As healthcare systems increasingly adopt genomic testing and predictive analytics, the challenge shifts from risk prediction to actionable prevention. This interactive workshop demonstrates how precision lifestyle medicine can translate polygenic risk scoring, validated clinical risk tools, and behavioural assessments into structured, individualized preventive care pathways.
Participants will engage in multidisciplinary case simulations based on a hospital-based Precision Prevention Clinic model. Through guided exercises, attendees will interpret polygenic risk scores, integrate ASCVD and cancer risk calculators, apply layered risk stratification, and design individualized, risk-tiered lifestyle prescriptions.
The workshop further explores operational implementation, including workflow design, multidisciplinary coordination, and outcome measurement frameworks. Aligned with the conference theme of Data-Driven Healthcare, the session emphasizes practical translation of predictive data into measurable preventive impact within tertiary and outpatient settings.
- Key Topics to be Covered:
- Principles of Precision Lifestyle Medicine
- Differentiating precision vs. traditional prevention
- Polygenic Risk Score (PRS) interpretation
- Integration with ASCVD and cancer risk tools
- Layered risk stratification models
- Risk-tiered lifestyle prescription frameworks
- Multidisciplinary workflow design
- Governance and data integration considerations
- KPI framework for outcome monitoring
- Expected Outcomes for Participants:
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Clearly distinguish precision lifestyle medicine from conventional population-based preventive strategies and articulate its added clinical value in tertiary care settings.
- Accurately interpret polygenic risk scores (PRS) and integrate them with validated clinical risk assessment tools (e.g., ASCVD score, cancer risk calculators, metabolic risk indices) to support data-driven decision-making.
- Apply a structured, layered risk stratification model that incorporates genetic, clinical, behavioral, and environmental determinants of health.
- Develop individualized, risk-tiered precision lifestyle prescriptions tailored to a patient’s composite risk profile.
- Construct a multidisciplinary precision prevention workflow model, including referral pathways, follow-up protocols, and outcome monitoring indicators.
