
Dr. Lene Terslev, Denmark
Dr. Lene Terslev earned her medical degree in 1994 from Copenhagen University, Denmark. She obtained the PhD degree from Copenhagen University in 2004 with the thesis "Doppler ultrasound in the detection and quantification of inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis." She completed her specialization in rheumatology and internal medicine in 2009, and has been the head of the rheumatology Ultrasound Division, Rigshospitalet -Glostrup, Denmark, since 2010.
The department is a EULAR center of excellence and a EULAR training and research center for ultrasound and MRI. Dr. Terslev has been a member of the faculty of the EULAR Sonography Courses since 2005, and is teaching international (North America, Asia, Middle East and Europe) and Danish courses in both ultrasound and rheumatology. She has been a member of and since 2016, the co-chair of the OMERACT Special Interest Group on Ultrasound. From 2013 – 2016 she was a member of the EULAR scientific committee and since 2016 the chair of EULAR Standing Committee of Musculoskeletal Imaging. She has participated in the EFSUMB Task and Finish Group in rheumatology since 2012, with the focus on ultrasound competency assessment in Europe.
She has published more than 90 papers on ultrasound and rheumatology including 8 book chapters in this field and is currently the supervisor for 4 doctoral students with theses on ultrasound in rheumatology (psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout and vasculitis).
