Professor Chee Ng [MBBS, MMed(Psych), FRANZCP, MD] Professor and Healthscope Chair of Psychiatry

He is the Director of the Professorial Psychiatry Unit of The Melbourne Clinic and Director of the International Unit at St Vincent’s Mental Health, Department of Psychiatry, University of Melbourne. He has also served as Director of the Asia-Australia Mental Health, Site Director of WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Mental Health, and past Secretary General of the Pacific Rim College of Psychiatrists. These positions reflect his areas of expertise in global and community mental health development and clinical psychiatry. His clinical areas of interest include mood and anxiety disorders, pharmacogenetics, old age, and cross cultural psychiatry. He has considerable research experience in psychopharmacology, community mental health and health service system. He has published over 100 original articles mostly in peer-reviewed journals and more than 15 book chapters. Since 2005, he has led the Asia-Pacific Community Mental Health Development Project involving 18 Asia-Pacific countries. He has also served as international mental health consultant for WHO, the Commonwealth of Nations and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, and worked on national mental health projects in Asia Pacific countries.
