Anish R. Kadakia, M.D.
(Foot/Ankle)

Dr. Kadakia is currently an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago. Prior to this position he was Chief of Foot and Ankle Surgery at the University of Michigan for six years. After completion of an Orthopedic Residency at Northwestern University, Dr. Kadakia had the opportunity to pursue a Foot and Ankle Fellowship with Dr. Mark Myerson in Baltimore.

He has a strong commitment to education and has written more than 30 book chapters and lectured both nationally and internationally. Dr. Kadakia has also had the honor of being a guest professor and performing surgery in China. Currently, in addition to actively engaging in research, he is one of the editors in chief of the Journal of Orthopedic Surgery and Research, an open access orthopedic journal.

Additionally, he is actively writing his own book entitled: "A stepwise approach to foot and ankle surgery". The primary goal of his book is to educate the reader on how to not only perform the technical aspects of the surgery, but to additionally understand the indications and the normal postoperative course following surgery. He believes in advancing the field of foot and ankle orthopedic surgery and has been on the forefront of developing new surgical techniques to help improve the quality of care that surgeons are able to deliver. Dr. Kadakia has been active in the American Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Society (AOFAS) since 2007 and is actively involved with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery in their resident education.
