Welcome

Dear Colleagues,

The Rheumatology Division at Hamad Medical Corporation is delighted to invite all rheumatologists to participate in our 7th Qatar Musculoskeletal Ultrasound course. Following its great success in the last six years, we have increased the number of trainers to accommodate more participants.

The course will take place in Doha physically from 25th to 28th November 2021.
Although there are various musculoskeletal ultrasound courses being held all over the world including in the Middle East, our course is unique as it is specifically tailored to meet the demands of the practicing rheumatologist.

We also extended our invitation to other specialties that are interested in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound such as-

  • Orthopedics
  • Anesthesia and pain management
  • Physiotherapy
  • Physical medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Radiology
  • Sports medicine
  • Internal medicine (Physician)
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Others

This is a three- day course of intense ultrasound training divided into two levels-

  • Basic course: for those who are beginners in ultrasound practice or have some experience in MSK ultrasound. Basic level will also have an online lecture-only option for those who are unable to attend physically.
  • Intermediate level: for those who did at least 2 Basic level courses, practice ultrasound regularly and they would like to improve their skills to a higher level.

This year we are also offering a special session on Day 3 after completion of the main agenda. This supplementary session will last 3 hours- Ultrasound in Spondyloarthropathy. It will be only for intermediate level.

On 28th November, we will be running a one-day Advanced Shoulder Ultrasound course

This intensive course is taking place on 28 November; it is designed for clinicians looking to integrate diagnostic ultrasound of the shoulder into their clinical practice. The aim is to deepen knowledge of ultrasound examination of the shoulder, in which probe positions are discussed with additional in-depth information. We will review the theory and practice ultrasound skills of several important shoulder structures and discuss some exciting pathology cases.

Our course is focused on providing individualized training in small groups. This is guaranteed by the presence of internationally acclaimed trainers who will give lectures, demos and hands-on training.

The course is endorsed by EULAR as well as by European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB). Participants will also gain International CPD credits.

Our aim is to ensure that participants will gain an optimum knowledge and confidence in practicing standardized MSK US.

Vaccination is mandatory for attending the course.
