
Dr. Odette Chagoury, BMedSc (Hons), PhD, MBA

Dr. Odette obtained a competitive UK Medical Research Council Scholarship to complete her PhD in Cancer Immunology from the University of Birmingham in 2009. Her research identified the role of key receptors in immune regulation. Over the years, she has held leadership positions in clinical research in the UK and Qatar. At the University of Birmingham Primary Care Trials Unit, one of UK’s most successful clinical trials units, Dr. Odette was a Senior Clinical Trials and New Business Manager. She was recruited to Qatar as the Associate Director in Clinical Research at Weill Cornell Qatar overseeing multiple clinical research studies across numerous disciplines and institutions. She has significant experience of implementing, developing and completing new clinical studies and clinical trials at a national and international level, and has managed over 50 clinical research studies in Qatar since 2013.
Dr. Odette is a member of the PHCC Institutional Review Board and the working group to establish the first clinical trials unit at HMC. In 2020, she was awarded a scholarship by HEC Paris to complete an MBA and an Executive Certificate in Healthcare Management and Policy. She has held several research grants including the QRDI UREP and NPRP grants. Dr. Odette has served as editorial reviewer for several international journals and is currently on the editorial board of Frontiers in Diabetes and Healthcare.
Dr. Odette is passionate about clinical research to improve healthcare and has developed and taught on multiple clinical research courses.
