Dr. Zafar Iqbal
Zafar Iqbal, a PhD Scholar in Medical Image Analysis, has more than ten years of experience in imaging & healthcare informatics in couple of leading hospitals across Pakistan and Qatar. He is an author of various research articles which have been presented in different countries such as Qatar, Pakistan, Australia, Sri Lanka, and United States of America. Currently working as Manager – Radiology Software Applications, Zafar is one of the founding team members who setup 3D Printing Lab at Sidra Medicine. Zafar and his 3D Printing team at Sidra have produced various 3D Models which help surgeons during pre-surgical planning and actual surgeries.
Zafar has recently presented his 3D Printing articles at Qatar Foundation – Annual Research Conference (QF-ARC 2018) in Doha, Radiological Society of North America (RSNA 2017) in Chicago, and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS AsiaPac 2018) in Brisbane.
Zafar has also worked on major software development projects such as Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT), HL7 Engine, Radiology Information System (RIS), Laboratory Information System (LIS), and Electronic Medical Record (EMR). He has also got various distinctions such as Gold Medal in Master’s Degree Program, Best Employee of the Year, Long Service Award, Top 50 Smart Healthcare Leaders Award, and Personal Achievement Award (Information Technology).
