Lena Nassar
Trauma Service Senior Dietician
The Senior Clinical Dietician joined HMC in 2010. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition Dietetics at Qatar University (QU). She is involved as a preceptor in a training program for QU’s postgraduate students in Critical Care Service. Her clinical workload is mainly focused on care for the critically ill. Ms. Nassar has presented at numerous national and international symposiums as well as courses. She has also participated in various nutritional awareness days and research.
She participated in research and the teaching of residents, nurses, students and has presented numerous lectures in a trauma fellowship program. Ms. Nassar has also participated in several interviews on local television channels about nutritional education and increasing awareness. She has participated on several committees to prepare educational materials for inpatients and outpatients to increase nutritional awareness and improve quality of life. She is also involved in quality projects in the hospital and serves on ICU committees to develop and evaluate practice guidelines and policies. Ms. Nassar was recognised as a superior student on a Dean’s list of honors for excellence at the Medical and Science College in July 2010. She has received the honor continuously for three years.
