Hossein Gharib, MD, MACP, MACE

Hossein Gharib, a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School, completed internal medicine residency and fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at the Mayo Clinic, where he is currently Professor of Medicine.

Dr Gharib is an international authority on thyroid disorders, having published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers and lectured at more than 350 national & international endocrine events. He has received many honors & awards, including the prestigious Paul Starr Award of the American Thyroid Association and the Distinguished Physician Award of the Endocrine Society.  He is a Master of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Endocrinology, and received an honorary doctorate degree from “Carol Davila” University of Medicine & Pharmacy in Romania in 2015. He is a Past President of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American College of Endocrinology, and the American Thyroid Association. His citation index is >8700 and H-index 49.
