The Qatar Summit for Healthcare Risk Management (QSHRM) was born from a visionary commitment in 2017 to address the growing complexities and challenges in healthcare risk and patient safety. What began as an ambitious idea became a landmark reality in October 2019, when the inaugural summit was held at Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) cutting-edge Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center, in partnership with the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM). This pioneering collaboration elevated the summit to an international standard, setting the tone for years of excellence and global engagement.
QSHRM’s journey is one of resilience and purpose. Amid the global COVID-19 pandemic from 2020 to 2022, the summit adapted with agility, transitioning into a virtual format without losing momentum. Instead, it grew stronger. The 2022 virtual edition attracted over 4,100 global participants, solidifying QSHRM’s role as a leading platform for advancing risk management and patient safety across borders.
As we enter the 6th edition of QSHRM in 2025, we do so with renewed urgency and a bold vision. Under the theme "Resilience, Risk and Reform: Reimagining Safer Healthcare Futures," this year’s summit will explore how systems can thrive amid uncertainty, how reform can be guided by lessons from past crises, and how risk management can drive transformation—not just prevention.
Hosted by HMC’s Corporate Quality and Patient Safety Department, in continued collaboration with ASHRM, QSHRM 2025 will offer a full week of immersive learning featuring expert panels, virtual workshops, case studies and interactive discussions. Together, we will explore the evolving role of risk leaders in shaping sustainable, patient-centered and ethically driven healthcare environments.
