Conducting Research in an Academic Health Center


Workshop information: This workshop is aimed at anyone interested in undertaking research in their healthcare facility but has minimal experience. It will be particularly useful to medical residents and other allied healthcare professionals who have never led a clinical research project involving human subjects, whether they were patients, colleagues, or the general population.
                                
Learning Objectives:
  • Be able to describe the regulatory requirements around conducting research in an academic medical centre.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the most frequently used research methods.
  • Identify the key steps involved in initiating a research project including topic selection, team formation, and proposal writing.
  • Describe the different avenues for disseminating research findings.
