Organizers of the Middle East Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare 2016 (ME Forum) have announced that this year’s conference will again feature the popular poster / storyboard exhibition and competition.
Open to any healthcare professionals interested in sharing their example of quality and safety improvement projects with international experts and other peers, the poster display offers an ideal platform to showcase excellent examples of practical, real-life examples from the Middle East.
Due to popular demand, the submissions deadline has been pushed back to Thursday 31 March at 10pm (Qatar time); submissions can be posted on the conference website:
http://ihimeforum.hamad.qaDue to overwhelming interest from healthcare teams wanting to submit their initiatives for the quality improvement poster displays, many of whom have asked for additional time to prepare, the organizing committee has decided to grant a six-day extension to the submission deadline, according to Professor Adeel Butt, ME Forum Chair, HMC Chief Quality Officer and Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute Director.
“In HMC alone, there have been many quality and safety improvement initiatives undertaken by multidisciplinary teams over the past year, and the ME Forum is an opportune time to highlight these successes and provide inspiration to others,” said Prof. Butt. “But we also look forward to entries from other healthcare institutions, in Qatar and from the region, as there is a real wealth of experience in the Middle East that we can all learn from.”
Authors of accepted posters and storyboards are eligible to receive a heavily discounted registration fee to attend the forum. All other participants can take advantage of the early bird discount fee until available until 14 April. The program for the ME Forum 2016 also focusses on improvement initiatives that have provided a transformative approach to improving healthcare delivery by inspiring innovation and will feature keynote lectures and seminars from local, regional and global health experts, as well a series of intensive pre-conference workshops.
Topics covered will highlight the science behind improvement, the continuing transformation of clinical interventions and clinical systems, how healthcare leaders can drive improvements in their teams and organizations, and ways in which healthcare workers can enhance engagement with patients.
The Middle East Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare 2016 takes place from 13 – 15 May at Qatar National Convention Centre. The event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Category 1) as defined by the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners - Accreditation Department and is approved for a maximum of 17 hours.
