Guillaume Alinier, PhD, MPhys, PGCert, NTF (2006), SFHEA, is Director of Research at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) Ambulance Service and Visiting Professor at the University of Hertfordshire (UK), where he developed and used to head up its large multiprofessional clinical simulation centre which was a hub for collaboration bringing together students, clinicians, researchers, and engineers from various countries and disciplines. At HMC he still plays an important role in facilitating collaborations between HMC and different universities in Qatar and internationally, and is involved in several projects on diverse topics He also holds a visiting Fellowship from Northumbria University and is Adjunct Professor of Education in Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar. He is widely published and cited (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=9SMHCwEAAAAJ&hl=en), and serves on numerous international journal editorial boards in the domains of healthcare simulation and pre-hospital care. He has served as Guest Editor for several special issues of the Qatar Medical Journal and the Journal of Emergency Medicine, Trauma and Acute Care regarding Critical Care for the inaugural Qatar Critical Care conference, the regional Extracorporeal Life Support Organization conference, and the yearly Qatar Health conference.
