HMC physicians are required to maintain a minimum average of 40 CPD credits per year to maintain their medical licensure, clinical competence and to stay up-to-date with recent advances in their fields.
Physicians working at HMC such as consultants, specialists, fellows and Qatari residents are entitled to attend international or regional medical conferences relevant to their scope of practice and normally receive full sponsorship from HMC.
Physicians applying to attend overseas medical conferences must comply with HMC’s HR by-laws. Upon their return from the conference, physicians are expected to submit a Certificate of Attendance or other evidence of their CPD activity at the overseas conference which will then be recorded in their
physician profile on HMC’s CPD database system.
Physicians interested in applying to attend an overseas medical conference must complete the CME Medical Conference Form. This must then be signed by the chair of the respective department and sent to the Medical Education Department for approval by the Director of Medical Education Department.
