- What is the Research Forum?
Ans. Research Forum is an interactive research platform to support and develop quality biomedicine research in HMC. The Research Forum will provide a support system for researchers where they can receive advice and guidance regarding their research projects from many senior researchers and faculty members at HMC. The Research Forum will provide an exclusive ground for researchers across all the disciplines throughout HMC to collaborate, share, discuss and present their scholarly efforts in a session based program conducted regularly (eg. monthly or every 2 months) at Bayt Al Dhiyafah (Club Hotel) of HMC.
- What is the format and structure of the Research Forum?
Ans. The Research Forum will assemble at regular intervals (eg. monthly or every 2 months) throughout the year. Each Research Forum assembly will consist of 2 main segments; ‘Bring your research’ and ‘Present your research.’
The ‘Bring your research’ segment will consist of the Research Support Committee made up of senior and established researchers who will offer support and guidance regarding research ideas or projects conducted by HMC staff, professionals. residents, fellows and medical students. The ‘Present your research’ segment will consist of HMC researchers presenting their research around a central clinical or research theme.

- Who is eligible to participate in the Research Forum?
Ans. The Research Forum is open to all staff, professionals, residents, fellows and medical students in HMC who are interested in conducting clinical, public health, basic science and molecular and translational research. The Research Forum is specially designed to cater to basic, applied and clinical researchers from all disciplines.
- When and where will the Research Forum take place?
Ans. The Research Forum will take place in the Bayt Al Dhiyafah (Club Hotel) at regular intervals (eg. monthly or every 2 months) throughout the year. The timing and dates of the Research Forum assembly will be advertised throughout HMC via Webmaster, HMC website and i-Tawasol and posters.
- Why should I join?
Ans. We welcome anyone who possesses a passion for research and wants to keep up with the biomedicine research activity in the region. Research Forum members will be able to:
- Present their scholarly articles and presentations in the monthly sessions of Research Forum.
- Discuss their research ideas, work and potential projects with senior research faculty members.
- Troubleshoot and overcome obstacles with their research projects with the guidance of our Research Support Committee.
- Actively participate in the first and finest interactive biomedicine research platform in Qatar.

- How can I contact the Research Forum team?
Ans. We will be holding a workshop soon to explain and answer any queries regarding the Research Forum.
- What do you mean by ‘Bring your research’?
Ans. The Research Forum aims to provide a support system for anyone interested in research at HMC. In the “Bring your research” segment of the Research Forum you can avail the opportunity to receive advice and guidance on your research ideas and projects from our Scientific Research Support Committee panel. Your interaction with members of our Scientific Research Support Committee will be a direct and interactive one-to-one feedback session in which you will be given dedicated time to explain your queries and receive feedback from the Committee members.
Prior registration for this ‘Bring your research’ segment along with a brief summary of your query and research idea or project is required.
- What do you mean by ‘Present your research’?
Ans. The Research Forum aims to provide a platform for HMC researchers to present their work to the research community at HMC. You will be required to register and submit your research abstract on the ‘Present your research’ webpage. Your submitted research abstract via our website portal will be classified according to a central clinical or research theme and scrutinized by our Research Support Committee for eligibility.
If accepted, you will receive an email notification with a schedule for your presentation.
- What if I do not have a research project or a research idea? Can I still participate in the Research Forum?
Ans. Even if you do not have any research project or idea you are encouraged to attend, meet fellow researchers and listen to researchers' presentations in the ‘Present your research’ segment. The Research Forum will provide an excellent opportunity for keeping up to date with ongoing research, and networking and meeting researchers across all disciplines.
