Radiology Residency Program
The Department of Clinical Imaging at Hamad Medical Corporation offers a five year ACGME-I accredited program in diagnostic radiology. R1 is integrated year with seven months clinical rotation in different departments, and 5 months rotation in radiology departments. R2 to R5 the residents rotate in different radiology specialties.
The Resident usually applies for part one exam at the end of their 2nd year and at the end of 4th year the resident applies for part 2 Arab Board and Qatari Board written exam and at the end of 5th year the residents applies for part 2 clinical and oral exam.
The primary clinical site is Hamad General Hospital (HGH) and 4 participating sites including: WWRC, Heart Hospital, Rumailah Hospital and Sidra Medicine. Each participating site has a site program director and adequate number of faculty. A Program Letter of Agreement (PLA) is signed by each site program director and the sites are fully equipped with modern imaging modalities.
We are accepting 8 Residents in every academic year with a current total number of 40. We have many highly qualified and highly skilled core faculty and faculty supervising the residents, and they are supported by highly skilled technologists, sonographers and nursing staff.
We have one day / week dedicated educational activates for the residents
The HMC Clinical Imaging faculties provide rigorous clinical training as well as educational activity on a regular basis, every Wednesday to guarantee residents graduate with depth of knowledge with high exam success rate, every year.
