Inpatients at the Communicable Disease Center (CDC) are cared for by a team of highly specialized healthcare professionals covering a total of 65 beds. Inpatients rooms are all single and are equipped to enable isolation and quarantine, if necessary.

Our inpatients tend to have one of the following conditions:
  • Tuberculosis
  • HIV or AIDs related illnesses
  • Respiratory infections
  • Hansen’s disease (leprosy)
  • Other infections that require prolonged admission such as osteomyelitis
All inpatients receive round the clock care from a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who specialize in the treatment of patients with communicable diseases.

All inpatients are referred for admittance either by the Outpatient Department, another Hamad Medical Corporation facility or service, Primary Health Care Corporation or a private health clinic.
