Factors affecting test performance and result interpretation

The FISH Panel is designed using the targets of the most common probes such as TRA/D, MLL, CEP9/CDKN2A and BCR/ABL1 to identify prognostically significant anomalies in T-ALL.

The FISH test acts as a useful adjunct to complete chromosome studies, assessing the progression, relapse in correlation with karyotyping.

One predictive marker, amplification of the ABL1 gene region, has been observed in a few T-ALL patients, and these patients may be responsive to targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitors.

Turnaround time / Days and times test performed / Specimen retention time
