The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DLMP) supports staff engaged in research and development, whether initiated within the department or in collaboration with departments outside DLMP, but requiring its support. The committee’s role is to assure that any resource needed for a study is identified, agreed with the Principal Investigator (PI), and submitted for Medical Research Center (MRC) financial approval. This approval is in the form of a signed DLMP checklist that can be downloaded from the download Tab on the Abhath website. The Research Committee facilitates research projects by:
- Reading proposals uploaded to the ABHATH platform
- Advising on research costs linked to DLMP support
- Reaching out and advising PIs in the early stage of a research proposal
- Help establish an inventory of costs, in collaboration with the relevant DLMP sections, using the DLMP Research Checklist.
- Advising on data access from DLMP or HMC Business Intelligence Unit (Corp_BIU@hamad.qa)
