Prof. Georges had completed French Baccalauréat (mention) Mont-La-Salle, Aïn Saadé, Lebanon in 1989, and BSc. Biology American University of Beirut (AUB), Beirut, LEBANON in 1992. He also has been qualified with M.Sc. Pharmacology (direct passage to Ph.D.) Université de Montréal, Montréal, CANADA in 1996 and PhD. Pharmacology, Université de Montréal, Montréal, CANADA in 2002.
Prof. Georges is currently the Interim Dean at College of Health and Life Sciences, HBKU from 2022. He has been the Head of the Genomics and Translational Biomedicine (GTB) division, program at the College of Health and Life Sciences, HBKU from 2020- 2021.
Additionally, he was the Director of the Basic Science Research Faculty Affairs at the American University of Beirut from 2011-2019 where he was in-charge of mentoring new faculty members and organizing annual retreat for basic science researchers. He was also the Co-Director of the Congenital Heart Disease Genetic Program from 2004, where he had been mentoring and training MD graduates and overseeing the clinical and genetic database. He had been the Director of the Molecular Core Facility at the American University of Beirut from 2003-2019.
Moreover, he had been an Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry, American University of Beirut from 2002-2008, and also an Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry, American University of Beirut from 2008-2015. Also, he had been a Professor, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, American University of Beirut from 2015- 2019 and is now currently a Professor at College of Health and Life Sciences, Hamad Bin Khalifa University since 2019.
