Dr. Panagiotis Baliakas
Panagiotis Baliakas is an Associate Professor of Clinical Genetics at the Department of Immunology, Genetics, and Pathology at Uppsala University and the Medical Director of the Department of Clinical Genetics at Uppsala University Hospital.
Since January 2024, he has also been the director of the clinical genomic platform at SciLife, Uppsala University. His current research activities include immunogenetics in lymphoid malignancies and genomics of lymphoid and myeloid neoplasms, with the main focus on predisposing syndromes to hematological malignancies.
As chair of the Nordic group on germline predisposition for myeloid neoplasms, Panagiotis has worked intensively to form guidelines for managing patients with hematological malignancies and germline predisposition.
