Prof. Guillaume Alinier moved to Qatar in 2011 and joined HMC Ambulance Service in 2013, where he is the Director of Research. After his undergraduate studies in France, he moved to the UK to obtain a Master in Applied Physics and a PhD in simulation in healthcare education. He started his academic career 20 years ago at the University of Hertfordshire (UK), where he has his tenured Professorship. He also holds a position as Adjunct Professor of Education in Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar and is a Visiting Fellow at Northumbria University in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK since 2009. He is the recipient of a National Teaching Fellowship award from the UK Higher Education Academy, now known as “Advance HE”, since 2006 for his work in developing educators and enhancing students’ learning experience through simulation.

He has also served as Guest Editor for special issues of the Qatar Medical Journal regarding Critical Care and Extracorporeal Membrance Oxygenation. He recently published a book on Debriefing with Professor Denis Oriot which has been translated in different languages by Springer and Elsevier.
