
Dr. Hanan AlBurno
Dr. Hanan AlBurno possesses a multifaceted background that encompasses academia, research, public health, project management, and clinical pharmacy. She obtained her master’s degree with distinction in clinical pharmacy from Queen's University-Belfast in 2012. Driven by a passion for public health, she embarked on her Ph.D. journey at Maastricht University, graduating in 2023. Her research focus was on behavioral science and tailored eHealth interventions to drive positive behavioral changes and enhance individuals' health. To augment her clinical research acumen, she completed the rigorous "Principles and Practice of Clinical Research" training program offered by Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2017.
Currently, she is working as a ‘Health Programs Manager’ at the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) in Qatar. Her tenure at MOPH-Qatar has been marked by her involvement in conceiving, organizing, and coordinating collaborative initiatives with both national and international organizations. These projects have empowered young adults to participate actively in society and heightened their awareness of educational opportunities within the healthcare field and research pursuits. She has been actively involved in strategic health projects aimed at enhancing the capabilities of healthcare professionals and ameliorating the overall health of the population. Recognizing the paramount importance of project management in her field, she earned Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 2020.
She has published scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals about the socio-cognitive determinants of behavior. Her commitment lies in improving knowledge of effective behavior change strategies and eHealth advances that, in turn, improve individual health outcomes.
