By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Explain the special considerations in selection, sedation, and euthanasia of the animals to ensure there is no discomfort.
- Describe the 3 Rs to be considered to prevent cruelty to animals
- Discuss the importance of using the live anesthetized animals as patients for realistic simulation.
- Recall the zoonotic disease precautions.

Surgical Skills Laboratory
By the end of this session, participants will be able to practice the following skills whilst working with the team:
Surgical Groups:
Neck, Chest (heart/lung injuries), abdomen, and abdominal contents including the large vessels and organs, pelvis, and extremities.
AnesthesiaGroups
eFAST, chest tubeinsertion,extremitiesvascular access– axillary, brachial, femoral, popliteal, intraosseousaccess, centralline,intubation. Tracheostomy,left anteriorthoracotomy, opencardiac massage, andocclusionofthethoracicaorta, applypathophysiology/physiological effect of some procedures clamping/vascular compression, pringle, thoraco-/sternotomy, surgery on the beating heart, reposition of poorly circulated guts, removing tourniquets etc; demonstrate the physiological effects of specific conditions/procedure: Tension pneumothorax, fluid load/high flow hypertonic saline - effect on the visible heart, the change from spontaneous to controlled ventilation, effect of PEEP on the volume depleted heart, high tidal volume respiration, hypotensive
