Renal Practice Development Nurse In NHS
Ms. Gracy Kumar trained as a General Nurse and Midwife in India in 1999 from Christian Medical College, Ludhiana. In the same institution, she worked as a trained nurse in the Cardiac Department for a year before joining renal services in 2000-2003. She went to work in the UK in 2003 in Renal services in Chelmsford.
Ms. Kumar completed her Renal Specialist Course from Essex University Colchester, Essex in 2006 and started working as an access link nurse at Broomfield Hospital Chelmsford.
To further improve her knowledge and skills, in 2015 she completed a BSc Acute Care degree from Anglia Ruskin University (Chelmsford, Essex). She has always been involved in nurse’s education to improve clinical skills, currently working as a senior sister as the practice development nurse in the renal dialysis unit.
Her main responsibilities are to train all new and existing nurses with clinical skills like AVF cannulation, CVC Care & Management, infection prevention and to provide training to self-caring patients to learn self-needling with rope ladder technique.
