Overview:
The mission of the Metabolomics Core Facility (MCF) at TRI is to provide support to clinicians, biomedical scientists, and life science researchers on their questions aiming at the identification and quantification of small molecules (metabolites) in biological samples to explore the underlying mechanisms of disease pathogenesis, discovery of biomarkers, identification of new drug targets, and drug response analysis.
Core service and technology:
- SCIEX Triple Quad 5500+ LC-MS/MS System
The SCIEX Triple Quad 5500+ LC-MS/MS System (Liquid Chromatography with Tandem Mass Spectrometry) – QTRAP is equipped to perform most complex workflows and opportunities. With this LC-MS/MS system, you have the sensitivity and performance to meet analytical and regulatory demands for low-level trace detection with ease.
- Hamilton Microlab STAR
MCF is also equipped with the Hamilton Microlab Star workstations based pipetting technology that provides high accuracy, precision, and reduced risk of contamination.
Software:
Sciex OS
MetIDQ™
Analyst software
Services available:
We provide our expertise and access to state-of-the-art LC-MS-MS instrumentation based optimized services for lipidomics, and metabolomics studies. We can also perform analysis of studies related to pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, and biotransformation. Method development for specific applications if there are no methods available or existing methods fail to achieve the required sensitivity. Moreover, all services include sample preparation, metabolite extraction, data collection, data processing, and statistical analysis.
