The Precision Medicine Education Team is excited to share that the 2nd educational round titled “Building Foundation Knowledge in Genetics” was successfully conducted on Sunday, 5 January 2025, attracting over 70 enthusiastic attendees.
The session featured the speaker Dr. Aisha Al Khinji, a physician-scientist dedicated to bridging clinical practice and basic science research. As a faculty member at Qatar University’s College of Medicine, she leads a Clinical Translational Science group, conducts groundbreaking research, and mentors future scientists to integrate research into patient care. Dr. Ayah Ziyada, the Precision Medicine Program Manager at the Center for Clinical Precision Medicine and Genomics of Hamad Medical Corporation, moderated it. Their expertise brought invaluable insights to the participants.
The Precision Medicine Educational Rounds play a vital role in the Precision Medicine Program, which aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals, especially clinicians. Through these educational sessions, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of precision medicine principles and applications, improve their ability to analyze and interpret genomic data and learn to assess and implement personalized treatment plans. Additionally, they explore the ethical and social implications of precision medicine practices and their principles and scope.
Led by Dr. Salha Al Bader, the Center for Clinical Precision Medicine and Genomics (CCPMG) is committed to providing continuous professional development and education for healthcare teams. By offering diverse learning opportunities, the center ensures that clinicians stay informed about the latest advancements in precision medicine.
The next Precision Medicine Educational Round is scheduled for Sunday, March 2, 2025. As these bi-monthly sessions continue, they promise to cultivate an informed and skilled workforce prepared to embrace the future of healthcare.
