Certification for Excellence in Person-Centered Care

Al Wakra Hospital is proudly advancing toward Certification for Excellence in Person-Centered Care (PCC) by Planetree, a globally recognized not-for-profit organization dedicated to transforming how care is delivered, by putting people at the heart of every experience.

This certification reflects our commitment to fostering a culture where patients, families, and staff work together to design care that is compassionate, personalized, and deeply respectful of individual values and needs.

As part of this journey, and in collaboration with the Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement (CPESE), Al Wakra Hospital established a Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) in 2024. The PFAC includes members of our local community, former patients, and family representatives who actively contribute to shaping hospital policies, programs, and experiences.

Through this partnership, we:

  • Co-design meaningful improvements in care delivery
  • Elevate the voices of patients and families in decision-making
  • Ensure care is aligned with the emotional, physical, cultural, and spiritual needs of those we serve
