Specifically he/she will demonstrate the following key skills and experience:
Principal Accountabilities
- Design, implementation and management of an internationally recognized emergency medicine research program.
- Recruitment and retention of high caliber research and support staff.
- Design and commencement of interventional studies and trials by the third year of the department’s operation.
- Maintaining high quality design and delivery of all research projects within the program.
- Identifying and engaging in national and international partnerships and networks to increase research opportunities and ensure the generalizability of the research program.
- Ensuring dissemination of research outcomes via ten publications in peer reviewed journals each year.
- Leading the development and implementation of a sophisticated electronic data management system for all research data.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum Education:Internationally recognized tier one Board Certification in Emergency Medicine and additional training in management, Masters or PhD preferred.
- Minimum Experience: Five years post fellowship management experience including at least three years in a research environment.
- Preferred Experience: Director of Research at large Emergency Department, experience in a tertiary education setting, experience in an Academic Health System, and/or experience in a medical research facility.
- Computer Skills: Highly experienced in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic management of research data.
- Required certification or license or registration: Tier one Emergency Medicine Board
- Language Skills: English required, Arabic preferable
