Dr. Al Anoud Mohammad Al-Thani


Senior Consultant- Ministry of Public Health


Dr. Al Anoud Mohammad Al-Thani graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Cairo University in 2003 before receiving her Arab fellowship in Community Medicine in 2009

Dr. Al Anoud Al-Thani is a Senior Consultant in Public Health, and has managed health promotion and non-communicable diseases for the Public Health Department at the Ministry Of Public Health since 2009. Responsible for 5 Sections and leading many National Programs, she has also headed a number of national committees and currently chairs both the National Nutrition and Physical Activity Committee and the National Diabetes Committee. She is also a member of the Midterm National Sport Strategy and National Screening Committee. She graduated from Qatar Leadership Centre in 2015. Dr. Al Anoud Al-Thani is also a focal point representing the state of Qatar for Non-Communicable Diseases, Nutrition and Physical Activity at an international level (WHO) and a regional level (GCC) and represents the Ministry of Public Health in many regional and international meetings and conferences.

During this period, she developed the Department’s programs and its system to perform its functions more effectively and efficiently.

Dr. Al Anoud has also performed much research, which has had a positive impact on public health programs in the countries of the region.

Dr. Al Anoud Mohammad Al-Thani was named an international commissioner selected by the UN Commissioner for Sustainable Development 2030 and in 2017 she was awarded the International Gold Award for Sustainable Development.
