Dr. Amal Abu Saad
Assistant Executive Director Quality and Patient Safety
Dr. Amal is the Assistant Executive Director for Quality and Patient Safety at Rumailah Hospital and the program lead for the HMC’s collaboration with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. Trained in general surgery, she spent eight years at the clinical frontline at Hamad Medical Corporation before joining its Quality Management Department in 2004. Dr. Amal achieved her Doctorate in Health Administration from University of Phoenix in the United States in 2009 with her area of interest being the evaluation and assessment of quality program implementation in healthcare organizations. Certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in October 2012, she was also a Quality and Safety Improvement Fellow (Hamad Medical Corporation and Institute for Healthcare Improvement Fellowship Program) in 2015 and in 2016 she became a coach in the program, mentoring other fellows.
