Prof. Arpan Guha is the Medical Director for Quality and Safety at Sidra Medicine. Prof. Guha is an active researcher in areas of safety, healthcare teamwork and leadership. He has a keen interest in the field of human factors in medicine and experience internationally with alliances in India, China and Africa. Prof. Guha is also an adult Intensivist.

Prior to joining Sidra Medicine, Prof. Guha worked with a number of UK and NHS Trusts including Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals NHS Trust [as CMO] ; Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital NHS Trust and as Director of the Merseyside & Cheshire Quality Improvement Network, Liverpool.

Prof. Guha was the Chair of Northwest Coast Academic Health Sciences Network Patient Safety Expert Group. He holds professorial appointment with the universities of Liverpool and Chester as well as and two universities in Taiwan and India.

Prof. Guha was a member of several leading organisations in the UK including the UK National Organ Donation Committee; the UK Department of Health Education and Training Working Group; the North of England, NHS England Critical Care Clinical Reference Group and the Management Committee for NHS Health Education England Northwest (HENW) – the Center for Simulation and Patient Safety in Liverpool.
