Ms. Lisa McKenzie, MHA, BPhysio (Hons)

Ms. Lisa McKenzie, MHA, BPhysio (Hons), works in key leadership roles at Melbourne Health, which is one of Australia’s eminent public healthcare providers. Lisa has led a range of large-scale change initiatives with a particular focus on quality improvement and service redesign. Her current role involves leading a strategy to integrate and improve services across three hospitals that were co-located as part of The Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre. Lisa was Melbourne Health’s Chief of Staff and prior to this, the Director of Transformation and Quality. In these positions she was also responsible for designing and implementing Melbourne Health’s improvement and innovation program that achieved significant quality outcomes, financial improvements and the delivery of more person-centred care. Lisa is currently Faculty at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and undertook IHI’s onsite Fellowship Program in Boston, USA (2016-17). She coaches teams to successfully apply improvement science and implement management systems that deliver value-based improvements. Lisa has a clinical background as a physiotherapist and a Masters of Health Administration (La Trobe University). She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (Australian Society for Quality) and has completed the Australian College of Health Services Executives Management Residency Program
