Nasseer A Masoodi MD, MBA, FACP

Nasseer A Masoodi is a senior consultant and assistant chair for General Internal Medicine at Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha (Qatar). He serves as the principal investigator for the MoPH-Qatar study of “Community survey of positive screening test for cognitive impairment in the Qatar population aged 65 and over”.

He provided leadership for a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Florida (USA), where a continuum of aging care needs—from independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care—can all be met within the community, from 2004-2013. His clinical interest has focused on designing healthcare systems to enhance safety and improve outcomes for older adults especially in mobility, chronic disease care; quality of life, dementia care and end of life issues. Dr Masoodi also served as a member of PMC (performance measures committee) of American College of Physicians from April 2009-April 2013 and a member of Medical Informatics Committee from 2014-15. In these multifaceted roles, he focused on reviewing, commenting, and voting on the many different performance measures that were developed by organizations such as the AMA Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement (PCPI), the National Committee on Quality Assurance, AHRQ, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, other specialty physician organizations, and Quality Improvement Organizations. He also served as associate professor of Geriatrics at FSU College of Medicine Tallahassee-FL.

Dr Masoodi attended medical school at Government Medical College Srinagar at University of Kashmir (India). He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Hospice and Palliative Care. He received his MBA through University of Massachusetts Amherst (USA) and his post baccalaureate certificate in Clinical Informatics through Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, USA. Dr Masoodi is an associate editor of British Journal of Medical Practitioners, Specialist editor for DynaMed and reviewer for many national and international journals including McMaster University’s the McMaster Online Rating of Evidence (MORE). He has published multiple times in peer reviewed journals.
