Dr. Poonam Gupta MBBS, CPHQ, FISQua, CMQ/OE

Dr. Poonam Gupta MBBS, CPHQ, FISQua, CMQ/OE, is working as a quality improvement specialist In Heart Hospital, Hamad Medical Corporation. She is a physician by background with an Executive MBA in healthcare management. Her previous experiences include practicing medicine in India. Because of her keen interest in quality improvement and patient safety, she joined HMC, Doha in 2013 as a Quality Improvement Professional. She was trained by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (USA) through various learning sessions and is a Certified Value Manager.
She earned several international certifications including, Certified Professional for Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Manager of Quality Organization and Excellence (CMQ/OE), and Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA). Apart from these, she is a Six Sigma Green Belt and a Lean professional, certified in Lean for Healthcare from the University of Tennessee. In addition, she is a National Healthcare Facilities Inspector, serving the Ministry of Public Health, Qatar as a part of the National Licensing and Accreditation of Healthcare Facilities program involved in the licensing procedure of several healthcare facilities in Qatar. Currently she is enrolled in the Improvement Advisor program from IHI in collaboration with HMC.
