1. Where is MRC located and what are the working hours?
MRC is located within Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City – portable cabin next to the Staff Clinic. Please refer to the location map provided in the website.

Regular Office hours: Sunday – Thursday: 7am to 3pm

Note: Kindly fix appointments through phone/ mail with concerned staff member prior to visits.

2. What types of training are offered through the MRC?
MRC offers CITI training as this is a mandatory course to be completed for participation in Human Subject Research at HMC.

3. Do I need to do CITI Training for my IRB application?
Yes, according to the MRC policies as well as MoPH guidelines, all investigators involved in Human Subject Research are supposed to complete their CITI training in three courses namely Basic, HIPs and GCP. CITI module completion certificates (or equivalent certificates) should be submitted by all study team members. Log onto www.citiprogram.edu for registering and completing required courses. 4. Will funding be provided for my study?
MRC provides internal grants for up to QR100,000 for Research studies.

Note that budget is not provided for studies determined as non-research (quality improvement, audits etc.). If funds of more than QR100, 000 are required, apply through our Internal Research Grant Cycle which is a competitive grant. Details regarding this are available on the Grants and Funding page.

5. Can a non HMC employee submit a research proposal at MRC?
Yes, research proposals can be submitted by PIs from outside institutions however there should be an HMC PI as well on the study team.
