

Ms. Muna Othman Althetmi
Muna Othman Al-Hetmi is currently the Director of Nursing Education in the Nursing and Midwifery Education Department, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Qatar. She graduated Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Qatar University and she gained Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Professional Practice (PGD) from South Wales University, United Kingdom in 2017. Furthermore, she completed her master’s degree in International Healthcare Management in Nursing at Essex University, United Kingdom year 2021.
She was a perioperative nurse and became one of the first Qatari Nurse Educators in HMC in 2008. She considers teaching her true passion and has led various symposiums and educational programs in HMC. Ms. Muna was also one of the Qatari leaders who stood firm during the pandemic and has led the Nursing workforce in Ras Laffan Covid-19 Facility in 2020. She is currently leading the Patient Care Assistant Project at HMC. She was instrumental in the success of the 1st Arab Nurses and Midwives Day Celebration in Qatar. She is the program lead and the SPC chairman of the 3rd Arab Nurses and Midwives day 2022.
She became a Perioperative nurse and soon became the youngest Qatari Head Nurse in HMC in the year 2014. She earned her master’s degree in Quality and Safety in Healthcare Management at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2016.
She established the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Department in ACC and guided the facility to its 1st Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation in 2019.
True to her vision of transforming the hospital culture in achieving higher quality by designing care through the patient’s eyes, she took the role of Person-Centered Care Specialist in ACC in 2018 and became a Fellow in Person-Centered Care in 2021.
She was instrumental in the successful transformation of ACC facility towards a Person-Centered Care culture. Under her guidance and direction, ACC became the First PCC Gold-Certified facility in Hamad Medical Corporation, and she considers this one of her greatest achievements in her career.
