Dr. Suzanne K. Freitag, MD, is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery Service at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, as well as Co-Director of the Center for Thyroid Eye Disease and Orbit Surgery. She is the Program Director of a American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS)-approved fellowship. Dr. Freitag received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and completed medical school at Jefferson Medical College. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital, a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship with Neil Miller, MD at the Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins Hospital followed by an ASOPRS-approved ophthalmic plastic surgery fellowship in Boston at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Tufts. She is an internationally known educator and lecturer. An innovator in the field of orbital surgery, she has published over 75 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters as well as a textbook on imaging in ophthalmology.
