
Dr. Khaled Elsayes
Dr. Khaled Elsayes is a Professor of Radiology and serves as Director of Mentoring and Advancement at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and The University of Texas John P. and Katherine G. McGovern Medical School in Houston. He is currently the President of the University of Texas Kenneth Shine Academy for Health Science Education and Chief Editor of the Academy of Online Radiology Education.
Dr. Elsayes is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in radiology education and abdominal imaging. He chairs the LI-RADS Education and Outreach Committee and serves as an Associate Editor for Radiographics. His scholarly contributions include more than 250 peer-reviewed publications, 400 abstracts, and over 200 visiting professorships worldwide. He has received more than 150 national and international honors, including the RSNA Honored Educator Awards (2014, 2017, 2018), the Society of Abdominal Radiology’s Richard Marshak Award (2017), and the Igor Laufer Visiting Professor Award (2021–2022).
A sought-after speaker at national and international conferences, Dr. Elsayes is a Fellow of multiple international professional societies and serves on the editorial boards of several leading journals. He is also the author of three major radiology textbooks: Introduction to Diagnostic Radiology (McGraw-Hill), Cross-Sectional Imaging of the Abdomen and Pelvis (Springer), and Pitfalls of the Abdomen and Pelvis (Elsevier).
