Dr. Ashraf Awad is a medical oncologist. Since 2007 he has been working in the Department of Oncology in National Center for Cancer Care and Research, the oncology Centre of Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha, Qatar. 
 
He was born in Sudan. In June 1996, he graduated from the Donetsk State Medical University in Ukraine, 
Dr. Ashraf had four years of general oncology and surgical oncology training in the Kyiv Medical Academy for Postgraduate Education Department of Oncology. 
 
He worked as an oncology specialist in the Unit of breast tumors in the National Cancer Institute in Kyiv from October 2001 to May 2006. He was involved in scientific research and clinical trials concerning preoperative cryodestruction in breast cancer combined. He contributed to developing anticancer autovaccine in bases of cryoassociated peptides derivate from the frozen breast tumor tissues.
 
In June 2006, Dr. Ashraf obtained a Ph.D. degree in Oncology from the Kavetski Institute for experimental pathology, oncology, and radiobiology, the Ukraine Academy of science. His doctoral degree thesis was "The application of cryodestruction and cryoassociated peptides in combined treatment of patients with breast cancer. "
 
His main research interests are advanced breast cancer, rare tumors, antitumor vaccines, and cancer immunology. He has contributed to over 17 publications and two registered patents as first or last author.
 
Dr. Ashraf got the ESMO certificate of Medical Oncology in Madrid in 2014. He has been a member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) since 2005 and served as the ESMO regional representative in the Middle East from 2009 up to 2015.
