Cristín Ryan has recently been appointed as Associate Professor of
Pharmacy Practice, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Previously, Cristín
worked as a senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice at the School of
Pharmacy, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (2015 to 2017) and as a
lecturer at the School of Pharmacy, Queen’s University Belfast, Northern
Ireland (2011 to 2015). Cristín undertook her undergraduate pharmacy
training at the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland (1999 to
2003), her PhD at the School of Pharmacy, University College Cork (2005
to 2009), and she also worked as a Research Fellow at the Centre of
Academic Primary Care, University of Aberdeen (2009 to 2011). Cristín’s
research interests are in the development of interventions to improve
medication usage, with particular emphasis on prescribing and on patient
adherence, and she has published widely in these areas. She was chair
of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Research Panel in 2016, and is
currently associate editor of three international academic journals.
