Calypse Agborsangaya received a BSc (Hons) degree in Microbiology in 2002, a Master in Public Health Nutrition from Karolinska Institute in Sweden in 2005, and completed his PhD in epidemiology from University of Tampere in Finland in 2010. 

Dr Agborsangaya has many accolades that include being voted the European Union Young Public Health Researcher of the Year (2009) and the Medallion for Research Excellence from the Finnish National Institute of Health and Welfare. He has received several competitive scholastic and travel grants, including a Research fellowship at the Harvard School of Public Health for research on vitamin D and the etiology of multiple sclerosis.

Dr Agborsangaya has over 20 peer-reviewed publications and has presented at several national and international conferences. He currently works for the Government of Alberta, Canada, as an Epidemiologist.
