Abstract e-Poster Submission Criteria

The Qatar Summit for Healthcare Risk Management invites e-Poster abstract submissions showcasing innovative strategies, data-driven interventions, and best practices that align with one or more of the following categories:

Abstract Categories

  1. Decreasing / Eliminating Preventable Serious Safety Events
    Focus on initiatives that have demonstrably reduced the frequency and/or severity of preventable adverse events (e.g., wrong-site surgeries, medication errors, patient falls, etc.).
  2. Decreasing / Eliminating Hospital-Acquired Conditions and Readmissions
    Highlight projects that have successfully reduced HAIs (e.g., CLABSI, CAUTI), pressure injuries, VTEs, or unnecessary readmissions through proactive prevention and quality improvement strategies.
  3. Enhancing Patient Safety
    Broad category covering any initiatives that contribute to a culture of safety, reduce harm, or improve reliability of care delivery systems.
  4. Implementing Just Culture Innovations
    Share approaches to embedding Just Culture principles, including tools, training, leadership engagement, policy reform, or culture assessment and monitoring.

e-Poster Abstract Structure

All abstracts must be structured using the following format (maximum 350 words):

  1. Title
    Clear and concise title reflecting the focus of the initiative.
  2. Background / Problem Statement
    What issue or gap in safety, quality, or culture did the project address?
  3. Objective
    What was the aim of the project? Include specific, measurable goals if possible.
  4. Methods / Interventions
    Describe the strategies, tools, or innovations implemented. Include details about the setting, team, and methodology.
  5. Results / Outcomes
    Present measurable outcomes with pre- and post-intervention data where applicable. Include lessons learned and overcome barriers.
  6. Conclusion / Impact
    Summarize the impact on patient safety, risk reduction, and organizational culture. Suggest how others may replicate or scale the initiative.

Evaluation Criteria

Submissions will be reviewed based on the following:

  • Relevance to one or more abstract categories
  • Innovation and originality of the intervention
  • Data and measurable outcomes
  • Clarity and structure of the abstract
  • Potential for scalability or broader application

Submission Guidelines

  • All abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Word limit: 350 words (excluding title and authors).
  • Each submission must include author(s) name(s), title, organization, and email.
  • Accepted abstracts will be presented as digital e-Posters during the Summit.
  • Use the attached poster and attached to your submission.
