Wound Care Nurse
Ms. Smitha is a registered nurse with seventeen years of experience in nursing. Since 2015, she has been working as a wound care nurse in the outpatient wound care service of Hamad General Hospital.
Smitha completed her diploma in Nursing from Bombay Nurses Training Institute, Bombay, India and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from University of Calgary in Qatar. She joined Hamad Medical Corporation in 2006 as a staff nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
She has attended many local and international conferences as well as training related to wound care. She has also been actively involved in developing wound care policies along with the team. She is dedicated to the nursing profession and committed to the nursing culture of excellence, the value of professionalism, quality of outcomes and collaborative practice with patient and family centered care.
She is an editorial board member for The Nurse Advocate, Chairman of the Unit based Council for the Outpatient Department, and a member of the Divisional Council at HGH. She was also an organizing committee member of the Qatar’s First International Wound Management Conference in 2016 and the International Nurses Day Celebration in 2017.
